Lime
Mixing and Slaking Plants
Lime is a relatively
low cost alkali that can be used for neutralising acid effluents or
for addition to processes that need to maintain an alkaline pH.
Cocksedge systems take the commercially available forms of lime and
convert them to readily useable slurry for ease of addition to your
process.
The fully automatic systems are custom designed to use the most cost-effective
form of lime for the capacity you need. This may be burnt lime
(CaO) or hydrated (slaked) lime (Ca(OH)2) delivered in
powder form and blown into a storage silo, or it may be lump burnt
lime from a lime kiln. We can also design systems for using
magnesium oxides and hydroxides where these offer a price or process
performance advantage.
Our systems are designed to ensure uniform mixing and slaking of the
lime with water and provide for removal of grit with minimum loss
of lime. Efficient mixers cut the power demand while maintaining
a uniform slurry and special features permit operation at high temperatures
without problems caused by vapour.
